Fall Weekend

The weather was perfect and although is was only a 3/4 weekend (Del had to work a half day on Saturday) it was very enjoyable and relaxing.

Another Finish

I finished my Hogwarts Express shawl over the weekend and although my owls don't have beads for eyes I am very pleased with it. I have several hundred beads in my stash but none of them have a hole big enough to pull two strands of yarn through, so I just put a purl stitch for the eyes, maybe one day I stitch on some beads, or maybe not.

Finished

The skull shawl is finished and it is huge. And I think it is rather creepy.

Fall Trees

The trees in front of our house are turning nicely. The one on the far left is always the first to change color and shed its leaves.

Progress

I am making good progress on all three (well, actually four, but I can only show three) current yarn projects.

The skull shawl is growing nicely.

Del's sweater is getting there.

And my Hogwarts Express is now in the beginning rows of the owl pattern. Unfortunately I found out that none of the several hundred beads in my stash have a hole big enough to pull yarn through. So, my owls will either remain eye-less or I have to stitch the beads on afterwards. Bummer.

New Project

I am making THIS for a friend on a 'her yarn - my hook' agreement. I am glad she did not choose black yarn, I really find it hard working with black these days and it turned out to be much easier than it looked at first, I just finished the second pattern repeat.

Weekend

I had a very nice weekend with just the right balance of work and play. There was some fall cleaning and gardening, movie watching, knitting and reading and as always, lots of yummy food.

Saturday I used the last of our tomatoes on a pizza and baked some soft pretzels.

Earlier in the week I had baked a raisin bread and popped it in the freezer. We enjoyed some of it for Sunday breakfast.

Sunday lunch was our own little Oktoberfest with Bavarian bratwurst, sauerkraut and my homemade soft pretzels, there even was some German beer (have I ever mentioned how happy I am that we have an ALDI in town?).

I made some progress on my Hogwarts Express but neglected to take a picture. I am getting ready for the increase row and then it is on to the owls. I have never knitted with beads before and I am really looking forward to trying it.

I have a full week ahead and am actually looking forward to getting a lot of things done. The weather is cool and sunny, Sunday morning we had a whooping 39 degrees, today it was 45. A bit early maybe but as long as it is dry I take it.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
